Take control of your own restaurant in this new otome game from Konami!
Your usual restaurant owner-themed GxB games make it so you have a handful of handsome customers you have to get to know better, but Tokimeki Restaurant is not your usual otome game. Your goals is get to know the members of two music idol groups belonging to a production studio that neighbors your restaurant. This means these guys will get to see you wearing something other than just your work clothes. Nice idea, Konami.
Tokimeki Restaurant also takes place in the city of Habataki, the same location as the previously released Tokimeki Memorial Girl's Side. If you've played Girl's Side, you may recognize some of the scenery.
Let's take a look at the guys you're going to meet in your adventures. First up, the three members of 3 Majesty!
And here are the members of X.I.P.:
There's certainly at least one guy who is your type, so let's start playing! No need to worry, of course there's full voice acting for your enjoyment.
Tokimeki Restaurant is a pretty orthodox business management game. It's not too challenging and pretty easy to pick up and play whenever.
Play runs like this: tap the kitchen counter and choose what you want to make. Once it's ready, the food is automatically taken to the customer. You get experience points for each dish you make, which let you level up when you've earned enough.
You don't even have to carry the food out or clean up afterwards, and food left on the counter doesn't go bad. The game at this point is really quite easy. You also get introduced to the members of the idol group before the game's tutorial even ends, which seems to take a bit of the fun out of the chase, but for those players that want to focus more on the relationship aspect of the game rather than the restaurant management, this may be a welcome decision.
Once you've made the same dish a set number of times, your cooking skill levels up and more dishes get unlocked.
Your initial offerings are very limited, so if you don't have a dish that one of the members likes when they come visit, they'll end up disappointed. If you've got your eyes set on only one of the boys, you can go to the game's in-app browser Tokimeki Ch. and find out what kinds of food he prefers.
For each event that comes up, you are rewarded with one heart coin. Collect five of these and you're able to enter the special Skinship Mode. Skinship Mode lets you touch this hunky guy through your screen. Sure, it may sound a little weird, but it's strangely satisfying...
You can also go hang out in other player's restaurants, which can give you some new ideas for layouts in your own shop. If you become in-game friends with someone, you can also go to their place for a bite to eat.
You may think this game would be good for a quick play here and there, but it has plenty of quests and things to do, so before you know it you've been playing for hours!
