I am Boss flips the tables and puts you in the shoes of a boss character who was minding his own business until a "hero" came along and started shooting up the place. Ever wondered what all those bosses you've beaten in games were thinking? Now you can experience it for yourself in I am Boss. Here's the iOS version.
Take a look at this intro video:
So the boss is an octopus-looking thing. When exactly is this game supposed to be from? Your job is to control the octopus and his tentacles. Now that I think about, I've never played a game where you control tentacles...
The "hero" shoots in a pretty simple manner, which is a faithful, albeit basic, representation of the side-scrolling space shooters of yesteryear.
And just like the original games, you, as the boss, get to shoot a super-powerful beam weapon. This makes you feel like a real boss.
When items drop, you can then pick them up with your tentacles and view them to see what you got. There are a total of 27 items to collect. All of the items are rendered in that cool 8-bit style we all loved to play when we were growing up.
All of the items come with humorous, tongue-in-cheek descriptions that make collecting them fun.
If you've ever wondered what it would be like to turn things around and play as a huge, hulking boss fighting off the intrepid hero, you need to give this game a shot.
