The first LINE-like app you might think of is comm, but what makes Cubie different is that it focuses solely on texting and lacks a free voice call feature. While the lack of voice calling is a definite downer, Cubie features a lot of extra functions that LINE lacks.
Take a look at the official video:
Now, let's take a closer look at these extra features I mentioned.
First, Cubie offers the same kinds of stickers found in LINE. The variations are still few in number, but as of right now, they're all available for free.
One of Cubie's unique features is the ability to doodle in your chat:
You can also post pictures:
And if you tap the mic icon on the bottom of the screen, you can post audio messages into your chat window. This is a handy option when you don't have any hands free to type.
Cubie's doodle abilities also let you doodle on pics you have saved on your phone, then post them in chats. Much fun can be had with this.
Basically, Cubie works the same way as the texting half of LINE, meaning it's pretty easy to use and is of high quality. For those of you who find yourself only using LINE's chat feature and don't make many voice calls, Cubie might be worth checking out.
