Night Shift Nurses. Go ahead, read the Wikipedia page, I'll wait here.
Ok, you're back?
Sound interesting? Yes?
May I politely suggest a visit to your local psychologist?
Well, I suppose if you've found this article by yourself, you're interested in this series, so I'll get on with my review regardless of your possible mental instability.
One of the most popular characters in the Night Shift Nurses series is Nanase Ren, a cute young nurse who now features in her own poorly-named A Lovely Girl's Alarm Clock app on Android.
The original series is famous for its over-the-top sexual visuals, so I wonder how the makers of this app have tamed the content down enough so that you'll actually be able to sleep. Let's take a look.
Yep, I'm wide awake now. No need for an alarm clock yet.
Ren-chan also responds coquettishly whenever you tap the screen. Evidently the voice actress for this app isn't the same as in the original game, but there's no love lost because this new girl has talent.
And yeah, with these kinds of illustrations, there's no way I'm getting to sleep. Want a different pose? Tap the change pose button on the bottom left. There, that's better...
Yep, no way I'm sleeping now. What is she doing with her hands...
What's this "lights out" button do?
Let's lower the lights and get...Wait! This is just an app on my phone! The teasing...oh, the teasing...Impure thoughts...I'm overcome with impure thoughts...
So yeah, for a number of reasons, this app is not going to let you sleep. Unlike apps I've reviewed previously, like Luna, which would randomly and automatically make noises, this app requires taps to get it to respond.
But when you figure that this app is actually supposed to be an alarm clock, rather than a "sleep partner simulation app" or whatever, this makes a little more sense.
There are also in-app purchases where you can get additional voice packs and sleeping/snoring sounds. The voice packs sound interesting, but I may pass on the snoring sounds.
And after spending so much time together with Ren, the sun has come up, and I've spent another lonely, sleepless night together with my smartphone. Great.
