This is a perfect solution for heavy smartphone users/ outdoor lovers who are away from the electricity grid for extended periods of time.
GREEN HOUSE CO., LTD. is well-known for its computer peripherals and households goods. They recently released an LED lantern which is activated without batteries.
This product is not only good as a lantern, but also generates enough electricity to charge any USB device like your smartphone.
Previously, I reviewed a mobile charger which is activated only by a spoon of water. However, that product was quite difficult to obtain and available only in a few countries, so I'm so excited about this lantern.
Here is how it works:
Into the magnesium (-) and the carbon (+) elements, pour the salt water. Then, a chemical reaction creates electrolytic ions which drive an electric current. It's a very eco-friendly and green when compared to regular batteries.
You need to replace the salt water every 8 hours. This lantern can run more than 120 hours straight, which is about 5 days. This is amazing. Also, if you give it proper maintenance and replace the metallic rod used for generating the electricity, this product can be used repeatedly... almost forever.
The output voltage is DC 1.5V for power generation, DC 3V for the LED light, and DC4.5V for the charger.
As a heavy smartphone user, I tend to focus on its charging power for USB connected devices, but this product has 10 LEDs and is capable of producing a high illumination of 55Lm.
As an emergency supply, it's perfect to have one in your house.
