Undo (iOS ver.) is a simple yet educational app that teaches you how to do zazen, Zen sitting meditation.
If you are a beginner, go to "設定(setting)," and then"準備音(sound)," to choose "解説あり(with voice guide)."
You will hear three gongs, and a monk starts to give you instructions in a very relaxing, calm voice.
Once the incense stick is burned out, you will hear another gong to tell you the end of your meditation.
Even just one test play gave me a good refreshing feeling.
Undo has its official instruction video. The eight-minute-long video gives you more than just an idea of the app but teaches you very easy-to-follow basic manners of zazen, such as...
Clean your room so nothing will distract you.
Get a zazen cushion, or you can use a double-folded regular floor pillow.
Join your hands in prayer facing forward, and backward.
Sit on the cushion cross-legged. (unfold your legs when it's uncomfortable)
Relax all your muscles.
Sway your body left to right, and slowly diminish the sway to center your body.
Lay your eyes on the floor about three feet ahead from you.
Keep your eyes half open.
Fold your hands, inhale through your nose, and slowly exhale through your mouth.
I find this pretty authentic for a smartphone app. I'm sure a lot of us can use a little calm time every now and then.
