Do you remember a puzzle game on PlayStation called XI[sai]? Yes, it's the one where you roll a dice.
This is from the same publisher. It was accessible, but something you get hooked on.
I was looking for a good puzzle game which you can play even when offline. And this Magic Arrows was it. It's free and you can play in 2 modes: "ENDLESS" and "PUZZLE". They are evenly nice and fun.
The basic rules of the game are:
Move and line up more than 3 colored arrow blocks either hirozontally or vertically and clear them away
Blocks would move when touched towards the direction of the arrow
After certain time arrows on the blocks would disappear and the block without an arrow cannot be moved
When all blocks are not movable, the game is over
In the "ENDLESS" mode:
When you clear away the blocks of the same color crossed horizontally and vertically, you will get an Magic Arrow
When you touch a Magic Arrow, you can clear away all the blocks on the direction where the arrow is pointing, all the way to the dead end
This is all you need to know about the rules and let's play the "PUZZLE" mode.
The number shown in the MOVE box is the number of the blocks you're allowed to move in this stage. You have to clear away all the blocks withing the allowed number of moves.
When you clear the blocks on the bottom, the upper ones will follow the law of gravity, which you might want to take advantage of. You can play unlimited times and also can retry the stage. After a few rounds, you should be able to familiarize yourself with this game.
After a few trials, I tried the "ENDLESS" mode, and it was totally another game.
You can follow the same basic rules and clear one block after another, but you just cannot avoid the allurement of the Magic Arrows.
The stages become difficult as you advance and the colors of the boxes will increase. Bubble blocks will also give you a hard time. You can clear them by hitting with other blocks. The sound effects do make you feel like you're being chased by time. Then again you would go back to the "PUZZLE" mode. You see, you're in an endless loop here.
Do play both modes and find out in your own. You will not regret.
