The nationally famous RPG series Final Fantasy, and its commemorative first of the series is finally published in Google Play. The price is 800 yen. Well, I have not completed the third title yet, but here's the review anyways.
Final Fantasy is also available in SQUARE ENIX MARKET for purchase with the site's own points. And it has become available in Google Play, which makes it easier for many users.
The original title was released in 1987, some 25 years ago, and has become a legendary long-lasting RPG series. It still surprises me how it is well designed when played again after 25 years.
The game starts with keying in your character's name and role. You don't have the slightest idea where this game is going to take you.
Your mission is usualy stated in 2 short sentences such as "Garland has kidnapped the Princess. Rescue her." which will not bore the players.
By the way in the original version, the motive for Garaland's kidnap is to force the Princess to marry him. But after the remake versions it was modifed to his triumph for the kingship, probably to avoid the criticism.
It's not only limited to this title, but it's easing to know that you can complete the game for certain if you assign one of the characters a recovery role.
The hidden stories are uncovered a little by little, and for the first time the player's ultimate goal is told with that famous theme music. Once you experience this, you cannot stop yourselves from playing till the very end.
Some might find no interest in playing such an old game. But to me, it was actually a meaningful retracing experience of my past in playing the the 3rd title which can be donwloaded from here.
Thanks to SQUARE ENIX, this 1st title is a little reasonable (800 yen) compared to the 3rd, and you can play it any time on your smartphone. Let's download it now and add it to your list of memorable events for the summer, just like 25 years ago.
