Welcome to the review for the new pattern-making puzzler Box Combo. The game is similar to the game Zookeeper released for Nintendo DS and smartphones, but what makes this game good is how even beginners to this kind of puzzler can string together tons of combos. Players that get too stressed out by the craziness of Puyo Puyo or Tetris will find Box Combo an excellent, stress-free puzzler.
Without getting into too many details, let's select some blocks and make some combos. This game has a unique "gauge" feature, but beginners can just take their time relieving stress by banging out combo after combo.
The game is simple enough that not much thought is necessary to keep banging out the combos. While a bit of this is luck, it seems that the game is set up to make combos pretty easy to put together. You get a GOOD, NICE, or GREAT depending on how big your combo is. Even NICE is pretty easy to get when just playing casually, so this is sure to make inexperienced players happy and keep them interested.
You can also upload your scores to Twitter and compare your scores to others with the ranking system. For those of you who think you aren't good at puzzlers, I think playing this game will help you change your mind and build your confidence. You might be able to get the hang of puzzle games with Box Combo, then move onto harder games once you get good.
For those looking for a bit more of a challenge in a similar game, I heartily recommend Zookeeper.
