TafView (beta) is a web browser for Facebook for Android phones. According to the description at Google Play, their primary objective in developing TafView (beta) is to make it as fast as possible. And I have to say the result is quite impressive.
It feels more light than fast. Let's compare it with Facebook's official browser.
The left is the official and the right is TafView. First of all, TafView doesn't use any GPS-related functions at all, making the start-up much faster because it allows us to do away with the automatic location search at the beginning. Also it downloads feeds quickly. You'll be amazed when you open multiple photo albums at how smooth it is.
I like the new Twitter-like design as well. Although you have to give an extra tap to pop up "like!" or "comment," it wouldn't bother you as TafView responds right away. My personal favorite characteristic is that I can make fonts bigger up to 160%. You can also make them smaller down to 60%. Great support for all near-sighted people like me.
If you are okay with no personal messages and no GPS-related functions, you will never want to leave this lightness for the official browser. However, you need Facebook's official app or a regular computer to activate all functions facebook has. The size is only 236 KB so it's definitely worth a try.
