You may be able to save thousands on your phone bills.
There are tons of free vocie call apps out there and I've never given serious thoughts to them, until I met this app, LINE.
If you have not seen or used it before, check out the phone call taking place between two Android phones using this app in the video below. You can also do this between an Android and an iPhone.
As you may notice there's a small lag of about a second, but remember it's free and the voice sounds crysp clear.
Here're the steps to install and make voice calls using LINE. Both caller and callee will need the app installed.
1. Download and install it from Google Play. Once done, you're redirected to the registration page.
2. Keep your country and phone number as they are and tap on "Agree with Terms and Verify" button. Then it will ask you if it's ok to send your contact list to their servers to find all your friends already using LINE. I chose "Don't use it for now" and proceeded.
3. Tap on OK again in the verification code screen and wait for a moment. It is recommended that you do not touch anything.
4. Enter the verification code in the SMS message that arrives and tap NEXT (or this is automated on some devices). Enter your profiles and complete the registration.
What you need to do next is to add your callee friends in the Fridns list. You can invite them from your contact list by tapping the Contacts button from the Add Friends menu, or if you're with them, I personally recommend the "Shake It!" feature.
Once your friend is added to the list, it's just like a regular phone. Select the name then tap on Free Call, and just talk as much as you like.
Even though you do not need to worry about the phone bills, you will be charged for the data service. Subscribe to the packet flat-rate services if you haven't and enjoy the free voice calls!
