How hard do you like your boiled eggs?
I like soft-cooked eggs, which is almost raw. However, it's difficult to boil eggs to my desired softness. If you put them out of the hot water too soon, the yolk is still runny, or, If you boil it too long, the yolk is as firm as a rock. It can never get it perfect which irritates me!
Believe it or not, there is an art to cooking eggs in their shell. The Perfect Egg Timer will be a wonderful assistant in cooking eggs perfectly to your taste without getting irritated.
Firstly, measure an egg. Place the egg on the grid diplayed by the app, and measure the egg by adjusting the grid with your fingertip. Each egg is slightly different in size even if they come from the same package. This function gives you more precise sizing of your egg before cooking.
Secondly, enter your current location's altitude. You might wonder why this is necessary, but temperature actually changes depending on altitude. With GPS enabled smartphone, it returns these figures automatically.
Thirdly, measure the temperature of the egg. If you just took it out from the fridge, it will be approximately 5°C. (41°F) If you just buy it from the store, it will be approx. 8°C. (46°F)
Finally, choose how firm you want to boil the egg. Now, place your egg in boiling water and start cooking.
As you can see below, the change of internal state of egg is visually displayed in real time.
As time passes, the egg becomes "soft-boiled", "medium-boiled", and finally "hard-boiled". In case I change my mind and want it "hard-boiled", I can simply leave it in a bit longer.
I successfully cooked the egg in my favorite firmness! The yolk isn't too runny and just right.
I enjoyed eating this boiled egg.
There is free version available as well; however, it lacks functions such as measurement and GPS. So, I recommend the paid version for the perfect boiled egg.
