I decided I will do more exercise this year as my New Year's resolution. However, up until this point I haven't done any running at all.
But let me make an excuse for myself. It is freezing here in Japan this winter, and it even snowed in Tokyo. It's too cold for running!
Here is great news for those who hate the cold, but want to exercise. FLICK RUN is the perfect app to get you running inside the house with your fingertips. This is published by NTT DOCOMO, Japan's number one mobile phone carrier, but I was able to use it on my mobile device (HTC's EVO WiMax ISW11HT) by au, NTT DOCOMO's competitor.
Just like the name implies, FLICK RUN uses your two fingertips as feet. You just need to move/flick your fingertips, basically running with your fingers on the screen. Take a look at the gameplay video below.
I am not very good at this game... I think you can do better job.
Please note, those with longer nails will find this game pretty difficult. I recommend you to cut nails really short to play this game.
8 preprogrammed running courses are available. The most famous and popular running course in Japan, the Tokyo Imperial Palace, is certainly available. And also, the fun part of this app is that there are even the courses of a Safari Park and the Metropolitan Area Outer Underground Discharge Channel, where you can't actually run in reality.
I highly recommend you try running up Tokyo Tower!
A leaderboard feature is also implemented, so it's a fun way to compete with your friends. Also, it can be linked with Twitter and Facebook, to share with your fellow indoor fingertips athletes!
The relay road race feature called "Walk with you" mode is planned to be available for the next update. If you exercise your fingertips now with this app, you will be a hero by the time the next update comes around!
