日本語『人生ゲーム2011』、まさに掌の上の人生はルーレット次第だぜ…。

The Game of Life is a long-running board game that has been made into innumerable variations and adaptations. While originally an American game, this game has become so popular in Japan that nearly everyone has played it at least once.

Jinsei Game 2011 (The Game of Life 2011) brings the experience of the board game to your Android device. The game is developed by Takara Tomy, the well-known toy maker and creator of the Japanese version of The Game of Life.

There probably isn't a need to explain how to play The Game of Life. It's basically a dice game where you use a roulette wheel instead of dice to determine how far to move each turn. In contrast to actual "life," skill and effort aren't very important. Your entire fate depends on the spin of the wheel.

As in real life, the Jinsei Game also includes numerous life-altering events. And, in keeping with its "2011" moniker, many of these events include current buzzwords like "setsuden" (節電, saving energy). Much to the delight of Tabroid readers, there's also a smartphone event!

In this game, marriage and birth events are unavoidable. Jinsei Game has a 100% marriage rate. Feel free to imagine the partner of your dreams joining you in your car as you race around the game board.

You can also get your own house, and win the lottery surprisingly easily. Sometimes you will land on spaces that harm your opponents, and sometimes they can harm you. Yet, compared to real life, this virtual life is pretty stress free.

One tiny source of stress within the game is the slow pacing. The original Game of Life board game itself takes a bit of time, but Jinsei Game 2011 especially feels slow when you're stuck waiting for your computer opponent to spin the wheel, go through events, etc. It would be nice if Takara Tomy made it so you could skip past these parts.

The best part of the Jinsei Game series is chatting with a bunch of your friends while playing. Just in time for the end of the year party season, how about gathering some friends together and playing a round of the Jinsei Game? The Jinsei Game is one of those games that seems to get more fun the older you get.
