The well-known series of ads on weekly magazines in Japan, Otona Tobacco Yousei-Kouza (大人たばこ養成講座; Grownup Tobacco Lesson) is now on Android with some extras.
It is based on JT (JAPAN TOBACCO INC.)'s long-running manner ads, which are already in three books with over 100 series. It's not only about courtesies and manners around smoking, but also on ceremonial occasions, with humorous twists. Bunpei Yorifuji's artwork, which can also be seen in Tokyo metropolitan subway's manner posters adds distinctive comical teste.
You can download and read every single episode from the first series up to series number 100 in the same layout as the printed version. The contents are downloaded only when you pick an episode from the manner index you want to read about.
In addition to all this, it lets you play all the movies that were released on the web or in limited movie theaters. Not a bad app for killing time.
Body Touch Koza is something extra designed and added specifically for the smartphone version, in which a human character responds to your touch on the screen.
I'm anticipating more characters to be available shortly.
The drawback is the time it takes to download the large-size contents.
The title of the app may suggest it is targeting only somkers, but smoking exhibits are kept minimal and the app itself is aimed to wider audiences.
